The 16th edition of the European Society of Gynecology (ESG) biannual congress was held from March 19 to 22, 2025, in the vibrant city of Riga. Renowned for its scientific rigor and dynamic exchange of knowledge, ESG 2025 brought together a global community of professionals dedicated to advancing women’s health.
The congress served as a powerful platform for innovation in gynecology, obstetrics, and reproductive health. With 957 participants from over 30 countries, the event showcased a diverse and engaged audience. The largest delegations came from Latvia (178 attendees), Lithuania (74), and Hungary (51), highlighting a strong presence from the European and Mediterranean regions.
In addition to the wealth of knowledge shared throughout the event, several distinguished Georgian experts took the stage. Prof. Archil Khomasuridze, President of the Georgian Association of Reproductive Health and Head of the Prof. Zhordania and Prof. Khomasuridze Institute of Reproductology, delivered a compelling presentation. Alongside him, Clinical Director Prof. Lali Pkhaladze and Prof. Nino Davidova also shared their insights, further enriching the event’s impact on the field. It is noteworthy that ESG has a newly appointed president Prof. Camil Castelo-Branco, whose extensive body of work includes 450 original articles. This year new ESG board members were also elected, including Prof. Lali Pkhaladze, a testament to her outstanding contributions to the field of reproductive health.
